The Most Comprehensive Indoor Cycling Certification Available.
Stage5 Cycling has defined the standard of excellence for indoor cycling in the health and fitness industry. We provide the necessary knowledge and training that allow instructors to create dynamic programs and workouts based on proven cycling-specific techniques and skills.
We expect indoor cycling instructors to obtain the same foundational knowledge, such as anatomy, kinesiology, physiology, program design and safety guidelines, required of other fitness professionals at your health club.
Certification Requirements
Instructors must successfully complete each of the following certification requirements:
- Comprehensive Written Exam
You must receive an overall score of 80% and a minimum score of 70% on each exam section. - 60-minute Ride Profile
- 45-Minute Practical Evaluation
You will be required to perform a bike fit and teach a 20-minute workout including a warm-up, 2 different drills with intermediate recovery, cooldown and stretching. An overall score of 80%, plus a minimum score of 70% on each exam section is required.
Continuing Education Requirements
Instructors must obtain 15 continuing education credits (units) from an authorized health and fitness education provider (ACE, NSCA, ACSM, AFAA, NASM and NETA) every 2 years in order to maintain their indoor cycling certification. Continuing education provided by USA Cycling (www.usacycling.org) is strongly recommended but not mandatory. Instructors must mail a copy of their continuing education credits and $50.00 renewal fee to Stage5 Cycling Incorporated.
